Aim of the Conference
The School of Humanities and Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, is pleased to announce the holding of an international conference on translation education in a new age. This Conference will serve as a platform for local and overseas translation scholars and experts to discuss contemporary issues relating to translation education in the areas of translation studies, practical translation, interpreting, and translation technology.
Submission of Abstracts
We invite submissions of 200-word abstracts, written either in English or in Chinese, addressing the topic of the conference. Themes to be explored by participants may include but are not restricted to the following:

  • the teaching of translation studies and research on new methodology in translation;
  • pedagogical issues relating to practical translation;
  • new developments in teaching interpreting; and
  • the teaching of translation technology and the use of technology in the industry.

Please include the following information in your abstract submission: full name, position, name of institution, mailing address, email address, telephone, and title of paper.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is 8 February 2016.
Papers accepted for the Conference will be notified by 20 February 2016 and full papers (within 7000 words) should be submitted by 1 April 2016.
Registration
For conference speakers (excluding keynote and invited speakers) and regular participants, a registration fee of RMB 500 payable to “The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen” is required. For student participants, a registration fee of RMB 200 payable “The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen” is required.
